New hybrid electric cranes, a revised terminal lease, and a PMA-ILWU supplemental area agreement furthered the region's goals to improve port sustainability, capacity, and productivity. R E G I O N A L R E P O R T Yang Ming and ONE vessels docked at the Port of Oakland. Port of Oakland Lifts Bay Area Volume Total cargo volume at the Port of Oakland increased by 10.5% in 2024, led by a rise in containerized cargo traffic. Last year's performance reversed four years of cargo volume declines in the Bay Area as the port seeks to return to its pre-pandemic levels of activity.
